Prof. Eva Illouz was born in Fez, Morocco and  raised in France. She received a B.A. in sociology, communication and literature in Paris X, an M.A. in literature in Paris X, an M.A. in communication from the Hebrew University, and her PhD in communications and cultural studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, she is a full professor at the Hebrew University's Department of Sociology. Her research interests include sociology of culture, sociology of emotions, sociology of capitalism, and the effect of consumerism and mass media on emotional patterns.



פרופ' אווה אילוז נולדה בפס שבמרוקו וגדלה  בצרפת. היא בעלת תואר ראשון בסוציולוגיה, תקשורת וספרות  ותואר שני בספרות מאוניברסיטת Paris X , ותואר שני בתקשורת מהאוניברסיטה העברית.  את לימודי הדוקטוראט בתקשורת ולימודי תרבות   סיימה באוניברסיטת פנסילבניה, שבארה"ב. כיום, פרופ' אילוז הינה פרופסור מן המניין במחלקה לסוציולוגיה ואנתרופולוגיה באוניברסיטה העברית.
